Failaka Island

A quiet, half-abandoned island in Kuwait Bay holding Bronze Age and Hellenistic ruins — once a Silk Road trading post, now empty streets and ancient stone.

Ferries run day trips from Kuwait City to the ruins of the ancient Greek fort Ikaros and the pre-war village abandoned since the 1990 invasion. Bring water and sun protection — there's little shade and few services.
