A rainforest plateau overlooking the vast Brokopondo reservoir, alive with howler monkeys and waterfalls — an easy gateway into Suriname's enormous, largely untouched interior.

Day-trip from Paramaribo via Afobaka, then hike to viewpoints over the flooded forest and reservoir islands. It's the accessible edge of the Central Suriname Nature Reserve, with Saamaka Maroon villages and indigenous communities nearby.
