Base in Artuch or Iskanderkul for multi-day treks between turquoise alpine lakes like Kulikalon and Alauddin. Iskanderkul lake, named for Alexander the Great in local legend, is reachable by day trip and has a dramatic waterfall nearby. July–September is the trekking window; a local guide is strongly recommended for route-finding.
